In regard to your inquiry: "How far back are there reliable records of the Different existing?"

I would like to make one thing clear: All our records about the Different are reliable. It's certainly not a thing we would want to be remiss in documenting, ever since we became aware of their—of your—existence. Although we have been unable to ascertain the exact mechanism that has caused the Different to emerge among those who had otherwise experienced recollections that they could not explain, we know we can't hide the fact that it's been merely a year since this started to happen. After all, you would simply need to research the length of existence of the network to know that.

Dear Mr. Martin,

I'd like to thank you for the swiftness of your reply. I can certainly appreciate the assurance of well-documented records held by the Bureau. It's wonderful to know that the IBA prioritized the well-being of the Different with the creation of the Network immediately following our discovery.

You mentioned being unable to “ascertain the exact mechanism that has caused the Different to emerge among those who had otherwise experienced recollections that they could not explain”. That strikes me as particularly interesting- both that there may be some sort of mechanism that divides us from others, as well as a group of people with inexplicable memories that are not categorized as ‘Different’. In the interest of better understanding our existence and origins, I’d be incredibly grateful if I could trouble you to elaborate a little further on those points.

I appreciate your transparency regarding this matter.

Sincerely,
Elliott
